landing, 2009

‚landing’ ist eine sw-Fotoarbeit, die auf eine opake, selbstklebende Folie gedruckt, ein ganzes Fenster der Dokustelle bedeckt.
Ich wollte eine unerwartete, neue räumliche Dimension schaffen, die statt eines Blicks in die Dokustelle hinein die Blickrichtung umkehrt und einen Blick in eine tiefe, landschaftliche Ebene freigibt, in deren Vordergrund ein nicht klar definierbares, grosses Objekt ‚gelandet’ ist.
Trotz dieser Umkehrung entsteht eine enge, nicht nur farbliche. Wechselwirkung zwischen dem Gebäude und dem suggerierten Ausblick, weil das Gebäude das kugelförmige Objekt anschneidet und so den Eindruck vermittelt, das Objekt rolle in das Gebäude hinein.
Die Dimension dieses kugelförmigen Objektes kann auch als Metapher für die Dokustelle gelesen werden, die einerseits als stetig anwachsende Sammelstelle künstlerischen Schaffens fungiert und andererseits diese Ballung wieder zurück mit der Aussenwelt verbinden möchte.
Nicht zuletzt sollte meine Arbeit ein kraftvolles Bild sein, das auch die im Tram Vorbeifahrenden auf diesen Ort aufmerksam machen will.

I wanted to create an unexpected and new spatial dimension which, by reversing the direction of view instead of towards the ‚Dokustelle‘, away from it. It opens up into a deep scenic plane where a big undefinable object has ‘landed’ on its foreground.
In spite of this inversion, a close interaction, not only in terms of colour, develops between the building and the suggested outlook because the building cuts into the spherical object and thereby creates the impression that the object is actually rolling into the building.
The dimension of the spherical object can be interpreted as a metaphor for the ‚Dokustelle‘ which on the one hand functions as a steadily growing collection point of creative process and on the other hand tries to connect this concentration to the outside world.
